There are two thesis master's programs within the scope of the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education. These programs are Social Studies Education Thesis Master's Program and Turkish Education Thesis Master's Program.
The aim of the master's program with thesis in social studies education is to broaden and deepen knowledge in a field based on undergraduate degree qualifications, as well as to provide the competencies of accessing information by conducting scientific research, evaluating, interpreting and applying information. In addition, this program is carried out as a formal education program. The aim of the education provided in the program is to raise students with high-level knowledge and skills regarding social studies education and to produce scientific knowledge that will contribute to the literature on the field of social studies education and guide practical applications. The Thesis Master's program in Social Studies Education is an educational program designed to train students with quality researchers in the field of social studies education. The thesis master's program consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, including at least eight courses, including the seminar course, and thesis work, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic semester. The thesis program allows students to conduct scientific research by writing a thesis and defend their theses for graduation.

Turkish Education Master's Program is a two-year (4 semesters) thesis program. The program was established to train scientific experts who have professional knowledge and skills in teaching Turkish as their mother tongue. The science experts who will be trained within the program will not only meet the need for qualified teachers in the field, but also contribute to the knowledge of teaching Turkish. Science experts who complete the program carried out by the Department of Turkish Education will be equipped to lead the field.
